Image via megangalloway.com 2012 has been a big year for most of us: we survived through the so-called "End of the World", the Mayans finally got to rip out their 5,125-year-old calender and put in a new one (Happy Late New Year to you Mayans out there), Barrack Obama was re-elected, me finally turning eighteen (Yay for me!), and the whole world was introduced to an annoyingly catchy song/dance moves known as "Gangnam Styles".

Image via vanuax.com I all get the blues sometimes. Maybe you failed your tests, maybe your boyfriend/girlfriend broke up with you, or maybe you are just sad. No matter what the reason is, it's never too late to turn that frown upside down and make the rest of your day and bright and cheerful day.

Despite keeping in touch every single day, it is still very difficult when someone you really like and care about are so far away. He's in England and I'm in Cambodia. Not only are we thousands miles apart, but we're continents apart. Anyone who's ever been in a long distance relationship knows how hard it is to not be able to be with your loved ones. Regardless, I try to keep a positive attitude, and the daily communication actually helps a lot.

I was so happy for them, but at the same time, I thought of how one of them, let's call him Joe, has been in a relationship for 7 years. Joe's girlfriend talked to me a few months back about how she wanted to get married soon. That's got me thinking. A lot of us are so busy climbing up the ladder of success that sometimes we put our lives on hold for that, which raises the question: are we choosing career over love? If faced with the situation where we must choose one or the other, which one would we choose?
